Best Deep Fried Chicken Wings :)

I love deep fried chicken wings and for many years, my favourite has been the chicken wings at Harrys Bar. I first had them 3 years ago when I visited Harrys for the first time. It was love at first taste. The way they fried the wings was perfect. The batter was tasty and it tasted nothing like ha chiong gai (prawn paste chicken – which I don’t fancy by the way). Whenever I tell people I love Harrys chicken wings, they always tell me to try the ones at No. 5 Emerald Hill. Well guys, I have tried them, and I still think the ones at Harrys are a slam dunk any time. The ones at No. 5 just taste like prawn paste chicken. Not only are the wings at Harrys tasty, but they come served with amazing sambal chilli that just rawks. If you are a chicken wings fan and you haven’t tried the Harrys wings, I suggest you order a basket. :)

A friend recommended me this other cool place for deep fried chicken wings: Four Fingers at ION basement 3. It’s a fast food chain with a small sitting area beside the counter. If you can’t get a place there, grab a seat at the dining area just opposite specially catered for all the stalls at the basement.

top half is spicy and the bottom half is soy garlic. i had 12 wings!!

Four Fingers serves their chicken wings in 2 flavours – SOY GARLIC or SPICY. I tried both and they are equally AWESOME. Extremely tasty and YUMMY!! :) I haven’t quite decided how to compare the wings here and those at Harrys but I guess Four Fingers has  a stronger more distinct taste and the flavours are strong. Nicely fried, simply excellent. :)

Pizza Delivery in 30 minutes!

They are back! Dominos Pizza is back now at Chun Tin after disappearing along with the likes of Milanos. Now I must admit that I have never really been a fan of Dominos. Back in the day, Pizza Hut was king before others such as Pelican Pizza, Canadian Pizza and California Pizza came into the picture. Today, we are talking about home delivery in 30 minutes or a free pizza at your next order! Whilst there have been many such promises and claims, I have ordered from Dominos 3 times in the last month and they have yet to fail me. Perhaps it’s because their traffic ain’t as heavy, and perhaps it’s because they are located at Chun Tin and I have been ordering from nearby locations such as Jalan Jurong Kechil and Hume Avenue, but whatever the reason, they promised and they have delivered!!! :) This is one happy and satisfied customer so bear with me.

On all 3 occasions, I have ordered the Value Set Meal #1 which comprises of a regular pizza, bread, wings and onion rings. Sure, there’s a twist to the every one of those mentioned to make them signature Dominos; but honestly, aside from the onion rings, I am not quite a fan of the wings and bread. I will tell you however that my cousins and S love the wings and bread so perhaps it really is just a difference of opinion.

Now on to the pizza. I LURVE IT. I really like their Extravaganza which really is the same as a Super Supreme from Pizza Hut.  However Dominos is way better. I love the way their thin crust is just right and not too overly crisp like that of Pizza Hut. They are also very generous with the toppings in particular the cheese! I guess it also helps that the pizza is delivered piping hot in under 30minutes hence making it taste that much better!

So lazing at home and want some good pizza delivered to you fast and quick? Try Dominos Pizza at 6222-6333. You may order online too although let me say I have not tried ordering online so can’t vouch for the speed and ease of use there. Check out their menu and promotions at www.dominos.com.sg

Toast Box Laksa

What I love about it:

  • Served with mee-tai-mak (lao shu fen)
  • Gravy is not too thick.
  • Prawns are peeled and relatively fresh.
  • Portions served are just right, not too heavy.
  • Nicely packed and compact. Good for those cyber lunches in the office in front of your computer.
